Number 4 to my challenge was a book I got to read for the Literacy class I am currently taking. We conducted literature circles on award-winning juvenile fiction novels. The one I selected was Echo by Pam Muñoz Ryan. This completed my "award winner" book.
Echo is divided by three main characters - Friedrich, Mike, and Ivy - bookended by the final segment of the circle, Otto. Each character takes the reader to a new time and a new set of struggles. Tied together by the magic harmonica, the characters showcase the power of music and working to overcome hard times. See my following post for a full review!
